X: You know how people who are bi or homosexual or whatever say that they just love people for themselves. I think I’m experiencing that. This is gonna sound like a tangent but just bear with me. I met a girl and I can’t stop thinking about her. Not like I wanna be her friend and know things about her (I’ve had those before). This is different. I just admire things about her, like her hair or her eyes. But it doesn’t feel sexual, just platonic.

H: It’s a girl crush.

X: Yea I googled it and that’s what it sounds like, but I don’t know what to do with these feelings. I’m awkward around her just like I am around guys when I like them. Have you ever felt anything like this?

H:  Yes, of course. Not to that extent or not for a long time maybe but I definitely get where you’re coming from. It’s just society doesn’t talk about these things. It’s kind of like your soul likes her soul, isn’t it?

X: Yea but what do I do about it?

H: Maybe you should just enjoy it. Let yourself feel whatever you’re feeling. You’re so caught up in always labeling your emotions and telling yourself this is bad or good or whatever you never really let yourself feel and get to know her.

X: We’re in this group dynamic so we don’t really get to know each other, though. I can’t exactly just be like: “Well you come to the bathroom with me.”

H: Why not?

X:  We went out for a cigarette the other day and she has a psychology background and asked me how I was feeling. I told her not so good, but we never finished our conversation.

H: Why don’t you tell her there’s a café next to my work. Maybe we could have a coffee during my lunch break.

X: Yea, that sounds okay….

H: Go be that girl’s friend fashkh. Fuck the haters.
